On June [XXX], 2026 at 11:18 PM PT a Waymo Autonomous Vehicle ("Waymo AV") operating in San Francisco, California was in a collision involving a dog on [XXX] near [XXX]. The Waymo AV was traveling northbound on [XXX] when a dog entered the roadway from the east curb in between two parked cars. The Waymo AV began to slow and maneuver to the left to yield to the dog. While the Waymo AV continued to slow, the dog continued to cross [XXX] and made contact with the front right side of the Waymo AV. Following the collision, the dog's leash was lodged beneath the front right tire of the Waymo AV. At the time of the impact, the Waymo AV's Level 4 ADS was engaged in autonomous mode. The dog sustained injuries. Waymo is reporting this crash under Request No. 2 of Standing General Order 2021-01. Waymo may supplement or correct its reporting with additional information as it may become available.
