On July [XXX], 2026 at 9:01 AM EDT a Waymo Autonomous Vehicle ("Waymo AV") operating in Atlanta, Georgia was in a collision involving two passenger cars on [XXX] near [XXX] and [XXX]. The Waymo AV was stopped in-lane facing north in the leftmost lane on [XXX] in a queue of traffic stopped at the intersection with [XXX] and [XXX]. The queue of traffic ahead advanced and, while the Waymo AV was proceeding forward, a first passenger car initially stopped behind the Waymo AV began changing lanes to the right adjacent lane. At the same time, a second passenger car traveling northbound in the rightmost lane on [XXX] initiated a lane change into the left adjacent lane and the front right side of the first passenger car made contact with the left side of the second passenger car. As a result of this contact, the front left side of the first passenger car then made contact with the rear right side of the Waymo AV. At the time of the impact, the Waymo AV's Level 4 ADS was engaged in autonomous mode. All three vehicles sustained damage. Waymo is reporting this crash under Request No. 2 of Standing General Order 2021-01. Waymo may supplement or correct its reporting with additional information as it may become available.
