On July [XXX], 2026 at 11:52 AM CDT a Waymo Autonomous Vehicle ("Waymo AV") operating in Dallas, Texas was in a collision involving a heavy truck on [XXX] near [XXX]. The Waymo AV was traveling northeastbound on [XXX] when it maneuvered to the right and slowed to a stop to yield to a heavy truck facing north and reversing at a low rate of speed at an angle into a parking area located at the north curb of [XXX]. While the heavy truck continued to reverse, the Waymo AV proceeded forward and began maneuvering toward the south curb to pass the heavy truck, then slowed to a stop as the heavy truck continued to reverse, and the right side of the heavy truck trailer made contact with the front left side of the stationary Waymo AV. At the time of the impact, the Waymo AV's Level 4 ADS was engaged in autonomous mode. The Waymo AV sustained damage. Waymo is reporting this crash under Request No. 2 of Standing General Order 2021-01. Waymo may supplement or correct its reporting with additional information as it may become available.
