As the Zoox vehicle slowed approaching the intersection at [XXX], a left-turning vehicle in the oncoming lane accelerated abruptly. The Zoox vehicle braked in response to the oncoming vehicle, and was rear ended by a passenger car (Vehicle 2) traveling directly behind.

The Zoox vehicle operator and the software operator, seated in the front passenger seat, reported injuries after the collision. The police were not called.
